Vintage Easter Parade
Have you ever been to a vintage Easter parade? Do you remember being a little girl wearing your Easter bonnet with the satin ribbons tied under your chin?
My nieces dressed up at my cousin's Denise's shop/studio. Denise has a vast collection of vintage prom and bridemaids dresses, matching shoes and flower bonnet hats.
Denise gave them free rein to play dress up.
With their handmade Easter baskets in hand they dressed up.
Each selected the color and style that they wanted from the many options.
All I requested was that they wore flowers in their hair.
Easter bonnets, lace, ruffles, pink cheeks, baby lips and tender sweetness.
Vintage Easter bonnets, baby pink.
Little girls happy day of dressing up.
Green tulle, leaves and crystals as water drops.
Young blossoms ready to bloom.
Which color would you wear: Pink, Yellow, Blue, Rose, Green....
Marie likes baby pink.
Chantilly lace with a pink roses.
Little girls' laughter.
Long curly locks, after school, wearing a rose crown bonnet.
Would blue be your color? Molly's made her Easter basket with a chartreuse bird.
I was in my glory, soaking up my nieces giggly happy Easter parade day.
Layers of pink, with satin shoes.
Maci likes pink.
Kate is the baby niece, and she worn a pink satin bolero and a bonnet from the 1930s.
Kate is six, yet she exclaimed over and over again, "Beautiful!
Everything is so beautiful!"
Did you ever wear an Easter Bonnet?
O M G!!!
This is sooooo gorgeous :O
Make a book out of it on Blurb.
PLEASE!
I'd buy it a toute a suite PDQ(pretty damn quick)
Your nieces are the spitting image of your gorgeous daughter...it's all in la famille :)
merci Corey!

These photos (and those girls) are exceedingly beautiful.
And, yes, I used to dress up in a puffy dress, patent leather shoes, gloves and an Easter bonnet. And I recited a bible verse in front of the whole church on Easter.

They all are beautiful! I love the photo of the Little Mermaid (I remember your mermaid photo of her from the beach) in a blue dress.
A dream come true day for little girls.

I do have a photo of me and my sibs (all 8 of us) with Easter finery, including hats. It's a real trip down fashions memory lane. I love the green dress in the photo and every single young lady looks just beautiful.

They will treasure those photos years from now!
I DID wear an easter bonnet and matching coat, gloves and purse! My mom made everything to match for myself and my best friend!
One year the Easter bunny left a big stuffed bunny in our back yard!
Those were the days......
thanks for the memories Corey! karen...

Mercy! What sheer joy! How does your niece market, or use the vintage dresses in her shop? Is dress up something she does along with the crafts? Does she charge per session?
Your memories will be in your sweet dreams forever!
Happy Easter week!

Oh my! How sweet dear and lovely. You captured their natural beauty so perfectly. Their complexions and features stand out so beautiful in the colors they chose. Love love love it! That photo shoot could be in a magazine and would be a great ad for a " party" at your cousins shop. oh I wish I could meet you Corey! xo jody

ps. Oh yes, my Mother loved to dress us for Easter. Hats were plentiful in the fifties, crinolines under pale pink, blue or yellow dresses. Anklets and patent leather shoes. Maybe a little purse though I do not remember that. An Easter basket For sure, with a hunt outside if the weather was nice. I remember once finding eggs hidden behind the curtains! Thank you for stirring up good memories! xo jody

Truly.
What fabulous memories these girls will have!!!

That green dress with the leaves is amazing.
What fun! My sisters and I used to dress up in crinolines that the good women of some church thought were the perfect thing to put send ( via my family in NJ) to my cousin Edla in Africa. ( (Edla and her family were missionaries.) Edla quickly determined that crinolines might be less than useful and gave them to us to play with. Thanks for the memory!

OMG! These girls in those dresses!!! BEAUTIFUL!
They are going to be REAL heartbreakers someday! I feel sorry for the boys that date them....your brothers will be waiting on the front porch "just cleaning his gun"...LOL!
My favorite color is blue...but that green dress is to die for!...and the pink one and the blue one....
My mother made all my clothes when I was small and I had some really pretty dresses...got lots of compliments...I still have some pictures.
Got a purple chick one Easter and when it grew up my grandmother fried it up in her cast iron skillet....needless to say I didn't eat any of it!...but that's life in the south!

Your pictures brought back wonderful memories of Easter Sunday. A new dress with matching coat, new white or black patent shoes and matching little purse, a straw hat embellished with silk flowers...all to celebrate Spring and Easter! All you could see in church were hats, hats and more hats! Miss those times.
Your young nieces all have such natural beauty! Thank you for the parade of lovelies!

darling photos! my sisters and I always had to have the fancy easter dress and hat to go to church when we were little. In recent years, we have added 'wear your easter bonnet' to the easter brunch celebration! It makes it fun, but the guys don't get it!

This is a dream !!! Your nieces are all so lovely and your cousin has a real treasure with all those vintage dresses to play dress up. Everything is soooo lovely !
And ... no I never wore an Easter bonnet (come think of it, I'm kind of "glad" I didn't ! hee hee !I would have prefered a flower crown) for we don't have Easter parades here . Maybe you could start this fashion for us here in France, maybe it will pick up better than Halloween, who knows !

For my first Easter, my Dad bought me an outfit, complete with bonnet. He even bought doll curlers to curl my hair. I still have my first hat, 58 years later.
