My brother Mark was telling me his how to stay true to happiness. He said,
"Happiness can be found by noticing the simple pleasures that daily life brings .
Like going to the fridge and taking out a peach. Anticipate its sweet taste. Then biting into it right there while standing in front of the fridge.
Happiness is not forgetting the daily simple pleasure waiting for you."
What is a daily simple pleasure that brings you happiness?
I can't believe I'm agreeing with one of your brothers. Living in the moment, especially if that moment involves something like a chocolate croissant.

Coffee and newspaper while house is still quiet. First sip of wine at the end of day when the house has been anything but quiet.

Mine is the preparation then sitting down each morning for my small pot of tea and maybe a scone or toast or fruit. Must do that right now.

Isn't it wonderful to be with family and having this kind of discussion with them? So glad you are home visiting.
For me I have to get up very early to be at work by 6am. After getting ready, I come downstairs and DH (darling husband) has a tea tray waiting for me and coffee for him. He sits on the love seat and I sit on the sofa accross from him. He has his laptop and reads the daily news online and I have my bible and read and pray with scripture. There is a holy silence and love that permeates the room that gives me what I need to make it through my day. We do this on weekends also. There is something special about starting our day this way. Simple pleasures that bring love, peace, and joy.

Waking up and seeing the puppy looking at me, with her tail wagging. Dogs don't wake up in bad moods. Oh and of course reading your blog!

Remembering, every morning, that I'm self employed and can get up whenever I damn well feel like it. That and having someone bring me my coffee and the papers in bed, too.

i have a cat his name is julius agustus(we call him baby)-born 7/28 8 years ago-i have had him since he was 1 day old-i bottle feed him - he almost lost his life after a routine dental cleanning went seriously wrong through human mistake-through the grace of GOD and the intercession of St. Francis St. Anselm and St. Bernardo(patron of sick animals) he lived! His chin is sliver white grey and beige-and is so soft- between his nose and his chin-i smile every time i see it no matter how mad, sad or indifferent i might be at any given moment-when he drinks water there is always a droplette of water on it-there are no words to describe how i smile even when i just think of it- he is so sweet really special! MY BABY J makes me smile from the inside out-i thank GOD for him daily

Simple pleasures this morning;
Seeing the neighbour's cat padding towards me on the lawn as I'm hanging out the washing. Back arched all ready for a pat. Bliss. I miss my cat and this one knows it somehow.
Inhaling the fragrance of the lilac flowers on this early spring morning.
Seeing a beautiful cloudless blue sky today.
Hearing a beautiful piece of classical music, for the first time.
As always though - your blog brings me happiness.
Thankyou Corey.

One of my cats (Wilburforce) and I have a special daily routine. Wilburforce knows the sound of the coffee maker when it is turned on, so he assumes his position on the little table near it and waits for his "milky"...that is, the half & half cream he knows I will soon put in a saucer on the table for him. He's an old kitty who "found us" 6 years ago. I know he won't be with us much longer as his kidneys are now failing, so these special daily rituals with him are very precious to me.

Being welcome by my dog at the bottom of the stairs when coming down in the morning ... and smelling the fresh coffee just made by my husband.

Quiet silence of the morning. Coffee with hubs, read my devotional, love on my fuzzy sons, plan my day......all without turning on the lights. Just a little accent lamp to see by. Bliss

Happiness is.......
Having my morning coffee across the street at my friends house in my pj's
Cuddling my new puppy Oliver
Spending time with my grandson Ian
Reading your blog every morning
Anticipating my first bite into a Honey Crisp apple and then savoring every bite
Knowing there are so many kind, caring people in this world
Your brother is right....simple pleasures

My daily happiness is all the blessings God has granted me and my family...........I never take them for granted and say a prayer every morning thanking God for my many blessings and pray to God for those in need of blessings.

Mine is waking and wanting to get out of bed. It's been a struggle since May. Now, instead of checking for e-mails when I finally get up, I grab My Therd Eye and exit through the kitchen door. Something new always develops overnight. :)
