Baby's first bite.
Discovering taste, and texture.
First bite.
Chelsea and Martin steamed the vegetable until it was very soft so that it would be easy to swallow without much chewing. They are following a movement that lets babies feed themselves (self-fed) by letting him discover texture/taste by grabbing and manipulating his own food rather than have it pureed and spoon-fed.
Sounds good, fun and messy to me.
Notice the plastic covering on the floor, a spoon, a bowl, and a bib and a carrot.
At his check-up at the doctor's today, he weighed 10 kilos. Gabriel is nearly 7 months old. No teeth yet.
Breastmilk has served him well and will continue to serve him well.
Adorable!
I'm sure my parents would have loved to have a durable plastic bib like that for me.

Bravo to Chelsea for sticking it out with breastfeeding. I am sure things have changed, but I came under heavy pressure from French neighbors and friends, even from the pharmacist, to wean immediately. I stuck it out for two years (possible because I work from home). My kid was five years old before catching anything that required antibiotics, whereas classmates in preschool were constantly prescribed meds.

Several of my friends and my step-son and daughter-in-law have followed the self led baby feeding program and loved it. Their children are thriving (at 3, our grandson eats EVERYTHING), as will Gabriel! What a beauty he is. xoxo

So precious

Yes, I would say so precious also. Savor every step along the way as it goes by so quickly. I love this concept with food.
