You are a wonderful writer! I'd forgotten about the 10¢ milk cartons and yes, Friday was fish sticks. Great to read your story. I love Julia Child too.

Another fabulous guest post blogger. Thank you Corey for introducing us to them all.
I enjoy reading each one as I do your postings.
Blessings to you all

A fabulously written profile! I had forgotten about the 10 cent milks also. I love your details about Julia Child !!

Lovely - you make us feel we were right there with you

Thank you, that was a lovely escapism read, I too love France and the outdoor food markets.

Because of your honest, charming and funny profile I was able to start the day grinning from ear to ear!
You also poked at a memory and I realize that I too was transported to another world...a world called France after watching Julia make food a celebration.
What a gift you have for writing and sharing.
Hopefully we can travel again to France, share a dinner together and toast Julia and Corey!
(I will make persimmon pudding)

Arnelle, Corey,
I feel Babette's Feast brewing :) !!!

Loved hearing your journey Jackie and recognized parts of your Americana. Thank you and thank you Corey for this genius idea of your readers sharing their takes.

Love it.

Just wow, this post brought back a lot of memories! I adored Julia Child on PBS! Mom adored canned everything! I used to hope my mom would be inspired to try one of her recipes, but most of the time she would shrug it off and say "Some day!".

I am so impressed that you've been a Social Worker -such rough work at times, but must be very rewarding. I'm glad you're writing, you definitely have a gift!

Another name that I’ve seen over the years, glad to meet you. It’s so interesting to read all the different histories and stories that we all bring to this blog. It’s been truly fascinating. I wonder who it will be tomorrow.

Very enjoyable and a great writer. Watched many Julia shows!!!!!

Enjoyed this post very much (all of your guest posters are great writers!) Thanks for sharing your friends with us, Corey.

Apparently your mother and my mother went to the same cooking school, right down to the nasty, mushy, canned green beans. Lucky for us we both discovered 'food' as adults. Real food.

Love the guest writers! All so different with Corey as the thread that ties us together.

Hi Jackie, Julia rules in our home, we have all her cookbooks and do our best to dine and not just eat. Hope you make it back to France to live, where would you live?

Oh I loved reading your entry!! Like so many others, I loved Fish Sticks on Friday....thanks for the reminder. Thank you for sharing this charming story!

I loved reading this guest post, if a bit belatedly. I had a similar childhood falling-in-love experience, but with Spanish and Spain. I don't know if I believe in past lives, but, if I did, I'd believe I'd lived one of them in Spain. Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely post and introduce yourself to us.
