Snuff box? (Although I really don't know.)

You always find the most interesting things! Is it a watchmaker's oiler/oil holder?

Opium box?

Is it hold a ball bearing while it is being oiled?

I have absolutely no idea, and I can't wait to find out!!

I believe it is used to hold a bar of soap.

This is the box in which you put your prize marble, an "Aggie", so at least you won't lose all your marbles.

I really don't know but would love to know the answer.
Thanks for keeping us guessing.
Much love always

I loved reading about the agate stone.

It almost looks like it might be a spare eyeball, but maybe a bit too big! I really want to know what it is now! Cheers Jennie, NZ

Snuff Box

I'm stumped.

For crushing pills.

A safe place to put a lost tooth before the tooth fairy comes!

Storage for emergency chocolate

It's a mold for making buttons

It's what TMJ said....a watchmaker's oiler

A 19th century contact lens holder?

My thoughts - this item has a medicinal aspect. Perhaps the idea was to rub the agate in order to liberate the healing aspects of the agate stone.

Anyway - that agate is a lovely stone.

I think it is a well for mixing up small amounts of medicine and forming into tablets.
