For years I told my family I couldn't see the attraction to cilantro because it tasted like dish soap. About 20 years ago is when I first found out that I wasn't the only one who tasted dish soap. I was so relieved...for me, parsley seems to be a good substitute for all recipes calling for cilantro.

Reminds me a lot of a salad my favorite aunty used to make. She added raisins and maybe walnuts. Absolutely no dish soap err cilantro

Martina, are you perhaps thinking of Waldorf Salad? Its main ingredients are typically apples, celery, walnuts and grapes.
