Last night the sunset was spectacular. I was walking alongside the Tuileries Garden when this came to view. A surprise. I walked faster to catch the photo I wanted: The obelisk, the lion, and the Eiffel Tower at the place de la Concorde. Hundreds of people had the same idea. Squeezing past them, I walked out onto the street and stood on a roadblock; that is what a short person does when they want to see something. In the last photo, I could not capture the pink and lavender sky. The sky was as delicious as cotton candy, wrapped in sweet and delicate ribbons.

The sunset was beautiful in the Midlands UK too, many shades of orange , red, yellows, so beautiful I stood without a coat, not noticing how cold it was, just absorbing the beauty. Tonight was equally as beautiful, I feel privileged to be able to witness the scene in safety.

Very clever of you, standing on a roadblock!
(Speaking of resourcefulness, I got my best photos of the Arc de Triomphe through the front windshield of a taxi as it drove down the Champs-Elysée! With a little cropping, the picture looks as though I must've been standing in the middle of the street).

Glorious is the only way to describe the light and the details...never get tired of those iconic pieces in the sky! Cheers...Jennie, NZ

Sadly because of Turkey.
Intense red sunsets are often visible when forest fires are burning nearby, or when volcanic eruptions happen
