Winter views
At the entrance of Luxembourg jardin.
One of many empty chairs at the park.
A street in Paris as I walk across the city to Chelsea’s place.
Our apartment is about five miles away.
The metro takes about thirty minutes.
A taxi ride about the same amount of time, and to walk it takes over an hour.
Place de la Concorde
« The Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris, France. It stands by the western point of the Île de la Cité, the island in the middle of the river that was, between 250 and 225 BC, the birthplace of Paris, then known as Lutetia and, during the medieval period, the heart of the city. »
Looking back over the Seine river towards the Sorbonne.

A smidgen of the Louvre’s facade.
From the top of the Ferris wheel.
Sunset over the Seine.

Earworm time! I'm reminded of the Cole Porter song "I Love Paris" from the film "High Society" (well, other than the detail of my Farmboy Husband not being there):
I love Paris in the spring time
I love Paris in the fall
I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles
I LOVE PARIS IN THE WINTER WHEN IT DRIZZLES
I love Paris every moment
Every moment of the year
I love Paris,
Why oh why do I love Paris
Because my love is here.

I am a Frankophile. I love everything French, and it pains me when I hear or read Americans making detrimental comments about the French. When I was in France it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I am so GRATEFUL to the French for creating such beauty. Even the hinges I saw in France were beautiful. I was in Normandy, and I was in Paris, and I saw attention to beauty and civility everywhere I went, and always the French people with whom I interacted were friendly and accommodating. As I looked at your pictures I felt my breath catching again, so appreciative of the beauty in France.

I agree with Julie, I have had wonderful experiences in France. I'm grateful to be living here in Switzerland, just a TGV train ride away!
We also lived in Munich for 3 years, and along with a friend of mine, took the train to Paris - to spend 4 days in January, walking quieter streets, soaking it all up. One of my favorite photos of that visit I snapped from one of the many lovely bridges - it shows the beauty of Paris in winter.
Thanks for these lovely views from your walk, Corey!

Thanks for these photos of iconic Paris landmarks, Corey.
Many of the places I learned about in high school French.
When I finally got to Paris 15 years ago and exited the Metro
and recognized the Place de la Concorde, I cried. Thrill of
a lifetime.
