A Summer Note

Every summer for the last six years—
Part of August—
We arrive in Ardeche.
Sun-drenched days.
Swimming.
Long shadows on the terrace.
Doing not much of anything.
Loving every minute of it.

Arnelle and Rodger—
Dear friends,
Lend us their incredible home.
Not just a house—
But something wrapped in soul and stone,
History and heart.

Each year, a photo—
Same place.
By the big table on the patio.
At the entrance.
Always the same,
Always a little different.
A marker in time.
Children taller.
Laughter deeper.

The beauty around us is undeniable,
But the gift—
The real gift—
Is the being together.
The slow mornings.
The lazy conversations.
The shared meals,
And quiet.

Arnelle, Rodger—
Thank you.
For this gift you keep giving.
For letting our family be in a place that holds us gently.
Where we are not just happy—
We are held.
We are together.
And we are grateful.

❤️❤️❤️

  3. As ever, gorgeous photos! Could you share some of the previous images over the years please. The children are growing up so quickly. Miss Sparkle’s hair is getting long. They are both so gorgeous.
