What Does a French Chicken Pen Look Like?

On my daughter’s property there are a few old sheds, and they’ve decided to convert one of them into a chicken pen.

From the photo, you can see it needs quite a bit of work. Gabriel took on the task of clearing it out while Olivia supervised. They hope to be ready for four chickens—one egg for each of them.

Olivia wanted baby chicks, but Gabriel told her, “We cannot risk getting a rooster!” So they will buy older chickens instead.

While I was taking these photos, it dawned on me: who will watch their chickens if Chelsea and the family go on a trip or a weekend away?

Is there such a thing as a French raccoon? If so, beware!!!!!

    1. There are critters- boars and foxes!

  5. They have automatic water and feeders. Looks like they have enough space inside to peck around for a week and/or build an enclosed outdoor access area and take off for a week.
Online and books have all info.
I don’t like to impose on others and makes for better relationships.
They will have a few eggs in the nests on return but look around
and you might find eggs any place, not just their nest boxes.
    Kids will love this.

    1. Good to know!
