Frustrating Blog Complications-

For twenty years I have written a blog every day. I missed a single day when my platform at the time, Typepad, had a technical problem for about 24 hours and it could not post.

I changed platforms two years ago, when Typepad became impossible to use. With the help of two very smart, generous, kind people- Kari and Dan, Early days felt great, yet during this past week WordPress systems have become burdensome. The platform can feel complex, with many plug ins and layered processes, even for writers with experience.

After speaking with WordPress, who are working diligently to correct the issue, posting has remained impossible.

I feel deeply grateful for Kari, who has been behind the scene every step of the way. Without her support I would lack any way to correct the issues, or add this update.

Due to the size of this blog, with tens of thousands of photos across twenty years of writing, I may need to change platforms yet again and begin a fresh archive elsewhere. That is daunting.

My daily practice stands as a habit, a ritual, and I appreciate everyone who continues to follow along. Hopefully the blog will return to full working order and I can catch up soon.

Missed you. Feeling happy / sad. Happy that you’re ok, but sad you’re having platform issues. Will keep fingers crossed for a resolution. Bonne chance.

  9. Thank goodness your silence wasn’t anything worse. My mind had all kinds of worries that something perhaps was wrong with a family member, etc as you never go this long without posting. So for me this technology blip is something I can gratefully accept. (Although for you my dear, I understand the frustration in this ever changing world of bits and bytes) Hang in there and I’m glad you have good tech support. We will gladly wait for you as long as it takes. xx Tracy H.

I have followed you for it must be 20 years. I was concerned something was wrong. I look forward to your blog daily. I’m glad (not for you though) that it was a technical glitch. I know it’s frustrating but hang in there. You and your family are a bright spot in my day. Even though we have never met I feel that we’re friends from way back.
