Dancing in the Park

Walking home hand in hand with Olivia after her dance class, we heard someone playing music. We followed the sound and found a man, alone in our town’s park, playing the saxophone.

Dancing in the park

Olivia ran to a bench, telling me to stand at a distance as if she were on stage. The saxophone player was just as much in his own world as Olivia—both living their moment in the glory of a morning.

Much later, I was invited to join her, dancing for an invisible audience.

If you can join a child to be in a world far from the noise, while at the same time sending music forward into their future, you have shared something rare.
