When You Are Four

Olivia eyed the rope tower looking up, reflecting on something only she could hear.
That pull between wanting and not daring.

A hand reached, then another, then glancing at me for reassurance.

She climbed a little, came back, glowing with the feeling that she could try again.
And next time, perhaps, go a bit further.
