Today Echos the Past

Palm Sunday- the moment when Jesus Christ enters Jerusalem peacefully,

welcomed by ordinary people waving palm branches.
He rides a donkey, not a war horse,

offering a simple message rooted in loving one another.

There is a starkness between the people’s hope and the political reality surrounding them.

It is the beginning of a shift,

where celebration slowly turns toward suffering, leading to the crucifixion.

Today we witness the struggle between love thy neighbor, and those in power who beat the drum of dominance, and greed.
The distance between those two worlds feels poignant this Sunday.

Peace be with you and you and you…

  1. Beautifully said Corey. The ordinary people who suffer from war whilst political leaders strive for dominance. I pray for these people also the people being governed by tyrannical rulers. 🙏
