A Few Brocante Details and the Apartment in Paris

France, antiques, tours, brocante

When it comes to the brocante, I am ready when you are.

What I hope to do is to create a brocante experience that is tailored made, as you want: French Antique international fairs, flea markets, second hand stores, architectural salvage yards, anywhere in France, but mainly Paris or Provence, suitcase or container, teacup or armoire …

French antiques and brocante
France,
antiques,
brocante,
food,
culture,
possibly classes on dying linen, paper mache with Nicol Sayre, visiting my friend Mo and her pottery… endless ideas for having fun in France… as if one needs a way to have fun in France.
Heck, I am happy if you come to France, and when sit by the river and shot the breeze.

Hopefully I can organize what works best for you, example:
Day trips, or longer,
one on one, or with a group.
Complete stays were I work out all the details (hotel, restaurants, car, where to go, who to see, packing…)
or simply meeting you at the brocante.

I have sent containers before, and I have packed a hurried suitcases.
When it comes to French antiques I am no stranger.
It doesn't have to be grandiose, and it doesn't have to be planned years in advance. I am open to making it work for you.

France, antiques, tours, brocante…
And if you are like my Brother Mat and my cousin Franca Bolla, were antiques give you a hiva (a word my Mother always said.. it is used when something bugs you, "It bugs me, or it gives me a hiva."). Well then let's meet for a drink of your choice.

Brocante or not, I want to share what I love about France.
Food, culture, the landscape, the seaside, the people…

I am heading back to Paris to do the final touches on the apartment… Hopefully the massive chandelier is ready, and I find a sofa that can fit up the stairwell.
My friend Lorna was our first guest, and next week my friend Elizabeth aks Contessa on the blog, is staying in our apartment.
We hope to rent the apartment a few weeks out of the year to family, friends, and those who read my blog. If you would like to find out more about the apartment in Paris, write me on Facebook or by email.

PS.
I am looking for someone to come to France and help me learn a few things regarding the internet, typepad, blogging, formatting videos… a lovely, easy to understand computer graphic geek sort of person. No my children cannot help me, blogging is not there thing. In exchange you can stay in our home, Paris or Provence with us, I'll feed you and show you the sites. I am not changing my blog…. persay, I just want to add a few new features and learn a few tricks. If you are interested let me know.
As you can see I am on a roll, full of ideas.

Oh Corey how fantastic it would be to meet you and have the chance to see France through your eyes.

XO

  10. How I would love to just sit by the sea and shoot the breeze, then maybe one brocante just for the experience of being there with you. Oh if only I could come now, but alas it will be awhile.

Corey – so sorry that I did not get a chance to meet you last week! How very kind you were to invite me to your home – but that was the only day that I had put aside for a brocante (or two!), and since we wound up in Carpentras after going to Isle sur la Sorgue, we were a bit too far away for a return trip south of there in Provence. I wish you were planning trips before we made our plans! 🙂 My daughter and I LOVED Provence (and of course Paris!) and am dying to return – I came home wanting either a Mas or a Chateau – did not care which! LOL! A bientot – and hope to return soon – health and the good Lord willing.
(and will definitely have to know how to ship some things back!)

Franca forwarded this to her friend and business partner who fits your description purr-fectly. Warning: she can really put away the vin rouge. Like in glug, glug, glug. Hi, Alicen!

Hi Corey, I have been following your blog for a while now -added you to my blog roll. I am an American who discovered France last year after hosting 2 French exchange students through our high school and sister city, Besancon. I took the return trip with our high school last spring and fell in love with France. I had never been to France or Europe before. I returned a few months later with my husband and 2 friends.. we hit 7 brocantes from Montreuil sur Mer on the English Chanel, to Strasbourg, to Dijon, Lyon, all the way down to Nice! Rented a big cargo van! And, now I await our 43 boxes! By profession, I am a designer in Charlottesville, Va. I sell vintage and antique home goods on Etsy. I am now focusing on bringing the French flea market to my community and growing my business as my 3 children head to college and beyond. And, hoping to return to France by next fall. I love that you are offering tours. And, my husband and I would love to fill a container. I’ve looked into guides, but they are interested in ‘to the trade’ antique fairs. I LOVED the grit of the countryside brocante. I loved the dusty dig and the haggle. We loved it all! Including our unairconditioned cargo van, which we crunched the side of in the tiny streets of Lyon! I will definitely keep you in mind as we move forward with our business plans. Best to you! Sandy

Good for you Corey!!! Your success is guaranteed! Eventually when the Sheepfarmer is back on his feet (another surgery in November) I hope to be able to help people discover what they would like that is REAL in the Basque Country (their roots, art, brocante, history, nature, photography, etc.) In the meantime, I know a few local guys that literally have warehouses full of brocante. One with a HUGE building filled with collected furniture, a backlog from YEARS …I would be happy to introduce/help you out in any way from down here 🙂

  18. Corey,
“hiva” is my new favorite word. Thanks for that one – I assume it means hives? So funny that you posted the framed intaglios. I love those…lost out on a set at a recent auction. The sales price was cray-cray (LA slang for crazy).

  19. It’s benn too long since my last visit to Paris, so maybe…..

  20. Corey, I love you 🙂

Thank you for having Anna Corba’s group to your home and your first brocante. We 11 women enjoyed it so much – what a treat for the eyes and mouth. Hope to see you again either in Ca or France soon.

  25. Corey I wish that I was techy, as you can see from my own attempts at blogging!! I would love to help you out. If you ever want to learn how to make a cloth doll or a good old fashioned cake then I’m your gal, until then I will wait until the day that fate decides we meet. A bientot! Ana
