What Not to do When You are Jetlagged

Laundry. Don’t do it. Or risk your whites coming out another color.

After 40 years of flying between France California I should know what not to do when jet lag.

I made a ding dong mistake at 3 am  I decided to do laundry.

Something dark blue found its way into the wash, and my whites came out.. pale blue. Not the chic French kind of pale blue. Just the “jet-lagged laundry” kind.

  1. There was a lovely lady who did bespoke sewing for the designers I once worked for. After being chided over a corner on a cushion that wasn’t sewn quite right, she simply replied, “What will it matter in ten years?” I’ve never forgotten that. It’s okay, darlin’—and I imagine that light blue is absolutely gorgeous.

Launder the pale blue items with plenty of bleach in the wash water.

  3. I just searched for something in my email, one result was an email from you in 2006 regarding a recipe for crepes. Looked at your name for a second, remembered you, immediately searched Tongue in Cheek on google. So glad to have found you again and that you are still writing for us/yourself. 20 years. My baby was 1 in 2006, now has moved back home after heartbreak but in a better place, his sister who was 4 then, was married a month ago. Ah, time…

  4. I did the same with red and white clothing, ended up with a pink shirt. I used a Shout Color Catcher sheet in the laundry right away and it removed the red dye and the shirt was white again. Available at Walmart. I was in England at the time and my friend had it there. I was relieved as it was the start of my trip. Things happen.

    1. Yes Norma is on to the solution. I have used Shout too, but only (right after) the offense. lol.

  5. What an amazing picture of the San Francisco skyline.

    1. Kathie B,

      Cue Tony Bennett…
