Flowers on the Go

Blooming

Blooming discoveries.

Chelsea collects her memories while she packs her bags.

First bloom

Noticeably.

The experience in China has changed her view, and deepen her education.

Chelsea will miss many of the daily treasures of life in China.

Certainly she will miss the food, but looks forward to a hunk of cheese and the blue sky of Provence.

Breathing spring

China…..Breathing it in.

For the last time.

Don't memories stir our emotions, color our world and shape our dreams….

Blooming color

Refreshing, hope, beauty, discovery… layers of memorable moments add to her roots.

Blossoms expected.

Flowers on the go

Which will carry into her tomorrows.

What is new with you?

Fabulous last photo! I’ve always thought that travel is the best gift you can give your children. I wish you both a safe journey home.

You’ve stirred so many emotions and memories in me from my own time in Shanghai and China and my years in Taiwan, and yes, brought some tears to my eyes here in Wisconsin. Thank you for the reminders, the photographs, the stories. ((hugs))

Corey – this is off topic, but just wanted to tell you that I live in northern Michigan, and recently we were in CA and drove through Willows. We were on our way from San Jose to the Redding/Mt Lassen area.
How nice you could spend this time in China with your daughter. Have a good trip home.

  9. Safe travels home, ladies. I enjoyed stepping into China with you.

safe travels. We are in Black Mountain , CA with about 70 artists relaxing, showing films, collaging, playing, making hats, dancing, talking about art, hiking. It’s been a lovely week.

  11. Perhaps not for the last time, she could be back in the future. Have a safe trip home.

    Wonderful post, as usual.
What is up with me? May 1st and we had snow here in New Mexico.
Red letter, mark the calendar day for me…..I wore a dress to work. My co-workers are shocked.
    Travel safe.

  13. What’s new: celebrating Mother’s Day with my mom, who is in a care center for rehab after dislocating both of her shoulders; next weekend a graduation brunch and a couples wedding shower; spring is finally in full bloom here with redbuds, crab apples, and magnolias, tulips, peonies, and daffodils.
    Safe travels home, Corey.

    These photos are gorgeous, frameable.
New here? It reached 60 degrees in Minnesota, finally. I went for a run, outside, and didn’t have to wear 3 layers. I have three scrappy daffodils blooming in the garden. I’m playing my harp at an outdoor wedding on Saturday and hope that the bride and I don’t freeze!

  15. French Curiosités

It’s hard to believe that her time there is drawing to a close. Be safe on your return home.

I know she will miss China but just wait until she gets HOME!! She will be so happy to be back it won’t take long for China to be a happy, happy memory that she will share with all of her friends. She’ll be glad she went but THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!
You two have a safe trip HOME!!!

Isn’t time such a funny juxtaposition? It seems like just yesterday that Chelsea was moving in but at the same time it feels like a long time ago. Please let her know she is a doll for sending me a post card. Safe travels home to you both! What’s new in San Francisco? Gorgeous gorgeous sunny weather!! Veggies in the garden. This year my nephews helped me plant corn, artichokes, and watermelon (so doubtful it will grow but how to you tell that to a wide eyed, excited, hopeful nephew?!) in addition to the SF staples like tomatoes, garlic, etc. Lots of love, Allison

Another chapter closing….but so many more chapters yet to come! Beautiful warm weather here in Sacto – 87 degrees today. Everything in bloom. Waiting here at my desk for my lunch hour so I can go out and enjoy the day.
Happy Mother’s Day in advance (here it is Sunday). Brunches being held all over the place….

But wait! I forgot to ask about the friends she’s made there in China, and to ask for photos of her with them. Too late?

  22. I have loved sharing your trips to China. You’re great to take us with you. What a great time for you and Chelsea to share. Thank you!

  23. I love reading your posts about Chelsea, and knowing that one day I will be celebrating my seven year old’s new adventures out into the world, too. Right now, I’d just like to get her to school in the morning without either of us having a fit!

  24. Rhonda P.

Daily life for me is going along pretty well. Keep it simple, laugh out loud, ignore the bad, make each day count.
Looks as if you do the same and I love it!

  25. Carolyn

My oldest child, Mallory will be traveling to Italy in just about 10 days with a group of students from her university. She has always wanted to visit Italy and has a suprise awaiting her there that I cannot share just yet. I’m excited that she will get to experience another culture and live one of her dreams. At the same time, a little apprehensive with the current state of our U.S. political climate. But this is a trip she will never forget and just one of many future travels and dreams come true, so, in the meantime, I’ll just enjoy Mother’s Day with her tomorrow. Her growing excitement is infectious and a gift in itself!

You and Chelsea will cherish your memories! I know there is something new on the horizon, I feel it in my bones…in business, and in my personal life! I’M ANTICIPATING IT!
    Plan a great homecoming!….
