No Shoes or Paper Required: Paris on a Sunday Afternoon

Volley ball on an imported beach in front on the Hotel de Ville (City Hall) in Paris.

No shoes required.

Bistro chairs and chalkboards,

One cafe after another.

Small talk, coffee served in real cups with real spoons…

Nobody walks around with a paper cup in hand.

Doors as art history.

Inexpensive hotel in the middle of Paris (Marais).

Great shots. The iPhone is an amazing little toy, isnt’ it? My favorite pics was the photo of my beloved French bistro chairs in front of the cafe. I saw them everywhere in New York city last time I visited, but they look right at home in Paris. Veronique aka French Girl in Seattle

  2. Coffee can sum up a culture.
In Europe coffee is sipped from a real cup, placed on a actual saucer, accompanied by a miniature metal spoon. It is something to be savored while sitting at a table talking with friends or watching the world stroll along. In the U.S. we barely notice the taste as we grab our XXL paper cups and rush off…to somewhere….

  3. Farmboy Husband and I were lucky enough to sign up for a tour of Paris’ historic Hotel de Ville (City Hall), within walking distance from our hotel. The appointments are spectacular — Corey, I’m sure you could identify all the early furniture! — as are the paintings and the seemingly infinite stained glass windows, many dating back centuries. To our surprise, it turned out to be one of the most impressive places we saw during our Paris stay! If anyone gets the chance to see the inside of the building, we enthusiastically recommend that they seize the opportunity.

  4. Kathie, you taught me something. Shall take note and see when I can join a tour.
THANK YOU for this great contribution! Kiki

Thanks to you, I saw Paris differently. I want to thank you for that, Corey.

  7. I love your new cellphone photography passion!
And I’m dying to know how three people fit into the room with just one double bed – do they sleep head to toe…?
