The Unexpected Kiss

Fallen berries on a marble plaque.

Some of them cried, "What a waste why didn't we fall on fertile ground! We will never grow into a mighty tree on this cold hard surface!"

A few others calculated that life is full of surprises since they had landed on the line, certainly, a prize was involved. Anxiously they looked around hoping for it to come.

The berries that stuck together, falling in a clump, felt lucky that at least they were together. For them, that made all the difference in the world.

Yet some berries stood alone, they enjoyed their new found freedom and looked at the adventure ahead of them with a sense of wonder.

The marble plaque felt the red berry juice soaking into its hard skin, it had been kissed, such a funny new feeling, he smiled.

Corey, you have an amazing way with words, have you always had it? You write with such fluency & your words brings life to the photo or objects & the reader knows it comes straight from your heart.
You have inspired me to get cracking on a book I am going to write about the women in my family going back a few generations & hopefully I can do these women justice….writing from my heart.
