The Word to Define the New Year Ahead

Happiest New Year!

A few years back Chelsea asked us to pick a word that would be our theme word for the new year. Last year I picked the word "celebrate" as it was going to be a year of many happy moments, Yann and I celebrated thirty years of marriage, I turned sixty, we went on a family cruise with Yann's family, my nieces came to visit, Chelsea and Martin married, my family came to France, Yann went on an adventure to India, friends came and stayed with us and a baby begun. The word celebrate seemed a given, an easy choice for an unforgettable year.

This year also has a happy note to it, the coming of a grandchild, it makes everything seem secondary and anticlimactic. Certainly, anticipation could be the word of the year, anticipation is at my hand and heart. though a year of waiting though hopeful and promising weighs heavy on the word waiting, do I really want an entire year marked with the sense of waiting?

This year my theme word is Discovery. Discovering new life, new roles, avenues yet untraveled as a family. I am excited for this year to unfold and to meet the little one. Discovery sounds right.

What is word do you want to define your New Year?

REACHING…..reaching my goal weight, reaching out to family & friends more,
Reaching out to my Neighbour to learn more French words & verbs or maybe German as I did 4yrs at school, albeit a long time ago! and…..maybe……reaching to the skies to Europe, I guess it could be reaching my dream 😍 reaching out to the children & Mums who come to Mainly Music at our church each Wednesday where I am the Coordinator, reaching out to the elderly ladies who have moved into care who were friends of my Mum & I have known forever, finally…reaching for the stars!!

  9. Dear Corey, Grandbabies are the most precious gifts in the world, they remind me every day that this moment is precious, their smiles when they see you and their unconditional love is heartwarming and you see hope and love in their eyes. You have a beautiful new journey of discovery just beginning.
Intentional is my word for this year. I want to live my life intentionally instead of fumbling through it from one crisis to the next. I want to live, love and be loved intentionally so that I can live my life to the fullest.
Blessings to you and your family.

  10. Mindfulness, letting go…
