Nearly a year ago, my daughter moved from Paris to Provence with her husband and children. I never imagined that would happen—but it did. And what a gift it’s been.

At first, while they were renovating their house, they stayed with us. It took a little adjusting—little feet running around, toys underfoot, meals that seemed constant, early mornings with Pickles jumping into bed. But within days, a rhythm found us. I realized how much I loved the fullness of it. The energy, the mess, the closeness.

Now they live just minutes away. I see my grandchildren often. I watch them grow up in the place I call home. My daughter left her corporate job and has joined me again in work—another unexpected joy.

We just wrapped up a week of our French Lovey Journeys with a group of strangers who, within days, felt like old friends. They’re already talking about coming back. That kind of response says more than I ever could.

I didn’t plan any of this. But life handed me something better than I could have planned: days filled with family, purpose, and a kind of daily sweetness that feels honest and true.

Am I happy? Yes, we are. Thank you, Chelsea xxx
