Back in the Brocante Saddle Again

Passion has a way of creating undeniable energy — it moves us, lifts us, and pulls us right back into what we love without hesitation.

After a stretch away (with my heart full and hands still unpacking), I returned home to France. And just like that — the very next morning, after a semi-decent sleep and croissant in hand — Chelsea and I were back at it, riding the familiar current of our rhythm.

Clients arrived, eager and ready, choosing piece after piece for a container bound for Florida. It never fails to amaze me — how quickly the pulse of this life returns, how effortlessly we slip back into the dance. Passion is the spark. Even jet-lag can’t compete with it.

  1. Great title to this post! I see several things in there I like – for example that red paisley quilt. And looks like a bronze Mercury statue in that first photo.
I thought of you the other day at an auction here. Some brown wood items seem to have rebounded a little (commodes) but not armoires. A fabulous 18th century cherry wood armoire came up with beautiful carving and they struggled to get $300 for it. I would have bought it, but too tall for our ceilings.

    1. Lovely to be thought of when you are at the auction xxx

I weave and one of my friends says that there are two hobbies involved in weaving. One is the fun and challenge of weaving and the other is the collecting wonderful and exciting fiber to weave with! Brocante(ing)? seems to be similar!

  3. Wow! You hit the road running. How absolutely fun!

  4. Oh, how lovely…
