To be aware is not just to see.
It is to hold the unbearable,
and still choose not to look away.
Even when the world keeps turning.
Even when our hands are clean.

Your post is poignant on this 80th anniversary of Hiroshima. Yes, while we await the world to awake to peace, may we remain aware and not look away, despite clean hands.
