There it is: the divide in the world, existing at once. One soaked in comfort, the other in suffering. A small world within a world, where privilege and pain brush shoulders.
To bear witness (between the light and the dark, between beauty and sorrow, between the ones who have and the ones who hunger-) is not enough—but to turn away is not an option. So I stay here, open-eyed, heart tender, refusing numbness.
We must not let the ache vanish into the scroll. We must stay awake. Stay focused.
Yes, “stay focused” for sure. My heart is with the flotilla this week and those they have arrested or are in danger. I pray for their safety.
