I wanted to share some of the many recipes I have scrambled into my book of recipes (and I say scrambled because I don’t neatly copy recipes- I tend to scribble them, make mistakes, cross things out- . “Scrambled” is the perfect word to describe my recipe book.
Some of the recipes are from actual people, but most of them are things I’ve made up. Then I try to write them down afterward, attempting to remember exactly how I made them — which doesn’t always go perfectly.
Since none of the recipes are in order, I never quite know where anything is in my recipe book. Sometimes I even have to rewrite a recipe simply because I can’t find where I originally wrote it. So yes… it’s pretty scrambled, often the recipe is not written twice the same way.

One of the recipes is the Sticky Bun Banana Bread from Hailey McCluskey. It’s a wonderful recipe. The only change I made was using walnuts instead of pecans (because I didn’t have pecans on hand) — California walnuts that my mother and I shelled. I’ve included a photo of her original recipe. It’s so good. It won’t even make it to the table because you’ll eat it all of it standing up at the counter.
On that same page, there’s a small mention of a lasagna recipe. Since it continues onto the next page, I included a photo of the lasagna recipe as well. Served fresh. It’s a big hit.

Above that, there’s also a Lemon Parmesan White Bean recipe that’s truly delicious — simple and full of flavor. And along with it, a cornbread recipe I found on the back of a package. It’s incredibly moist and definitely worth making.

I don’t always follow recipes exactly, and when I write things down, I sometimes forget a detail or two — but you’ll get the gist of it.
Recipes from my very scrambled worn cookbook.
