Faces that Followed me Home From the Brocante

When I go to the brocantes, many things catch my eye—but it’s always the portraits, especially the older ones. The crackled faces, slightly torn, never quite perfect… the ones that have been hanging out in dark attics.

If you came to my house, you’d feel it immediately: people everywhere, looking back at you. Someone once told me that those who fill their homes with portraits must be lonely. Perhaps. Some people turn to music for that. I prefer faces.

Wall space… I’ve been thinking about it for a while: how to bring them together. Today, an idea came. Layering—faces overlapping, keeping each other company.

And someday, whoever takes them down will see what remains: a wall pricked through call it – Swiss cheese.

I love it! That looks fabulous. I totally get it, I love faces too, and hands.

Nearly every day you have a story that makes me look at things slightly askew. I usually chuckle and enjoy the posting. A great gift you have to make the lighthearted look at a different face of the e world!
