The wine flowed from glass to glass, and as it did I could hear the verse from Mass being said in the back of my mind, "Grapes of the vine work from human hands…"

Mon amie, or my friend Kristi from the blog "French Word a Day", invited us to lunch.

Quiche, soup, salad, and friendship, plenty of each, were on the menu.

Jean-Marc, Kristi's husband served us wine from his vineyard.

I felt like a scene from: A Year in Provence.

Kristi had set two tables one outside and one in the dining room asking us where we would like to sit, "Outside or inside?"

An inviting, cheerful afternoon passed as the sun played along the vines, throughout the fields, weaving within the parasol pines, down to the sparkling sea.

Long artichoke stems decorated the dining room table, Kristi served bread in an antique wooden coal shovel. Of course it is no longer used as a shovel, it is pristine and a perfect bread basket of sort. I wished I had thought of that! Instead I took note, "Find wooden shovel."

Mas des Brun is the name of their newest winery adventure.

Jean Marc talked about his wine asking us if we could sensed the taste of pears?

I am not an expert on wine, the best I could come up with was, "I like it."

A flawless day, thank you Kristi for encouraging me to blog eleven years ago, and for being my friend these last twenty years, and for that delicious sorrel potato soup with sorrel pesto that you made from your garden.
