French Husband tried it on while pretending to ride.

Going to the brocante with French Husband is fun: He drives me everywhere, carries everything we buy to the car, writes everything down, looks for stuffed animals for no reason except to say, "Oh how cute is that one", tries on things, talks to every dealer selling anything to do with motorcycles, and then drives home.

Gina, a friend I met through blogging and who is staying in "The House Next Door" came with us to the brocante. Look what she found! Onion soup ironstone bowls.

Gina sitting on a chair that looks like a ball, but it was a chair.

I wish I had a photo of our car, there was barely room for us.

The cutting boards came home with us, plus some other big stuff for Cassis and some paintings.

I love to read your blog everyday.
I love to be in my garden, I’ll make
up projects and excuses just to be
    in the garden.
I love to nap with my cat.
I love to eat cheese, any kind of cheese.

  2. What Ms. Eiffel said. As well as looking around thrift and small antique shops with a friend. She likes to spend money, I like to look at stuff. Sad tut true, there are no brocantes in Seattle.

  3. Kipper—You are in Seattle! We are neighbors….I’m in Tacoma.
Gina looks happy. I like that red lipstick.

  4. Did you buy the helmet ?

  5. I’m a 71 year old Widow. Does FH have an older Brother per chance?? He seems like the “perfect husband”… and isn’t too hard on the eyes either 🙂 I could be on the next plane……

  6. I love Christmas! We decorate 3 trees in our home and have collected beautiful ornaments for over 20 years. Each tree is different and a work of art. I love everything about Christmas, starting with the true meaning of the birth of Jesus, to decorating inside and out, the Christmas meal, shopping, parties, baking, cards…I live for this time of year. I decorated my cubie at work with garland and selected ornaments. I could go on and on about my Christmas experience. I listen to Christmas carols while driving to work. I love the beauty of Christmas.

You know how to live! I hope someone bought that darling bubble gum machine.

  8. Taste of France

Brocantes and vide greniers are so much fun. Especially when the weather is fine. A real treasure hunt.

  9. WOW! You really hit the ground running when you got home! And it looks like a good time is being had by all!

  10. Yann sure looks a lot different without his hair showing!

  11. Our French Oasis

Ile you I adore going to Brocantes with my husband, because he always carries everything too, and we always have fun, he probably wants to buy more than I do!

  12. Ditto what ANN said! We have a party every night this week. We also love traveling to France.
Omg my hubs would jump off a bridge before he did whatYann did/does for you. Shopping, standing around waiting on me. Ugh. Yann is a Jewel!!! Every year I wish we were spending Christmas in Paris. Maybe next year.

    I moved to Southern California
from Bellevue a few years ago.
I’m still missing the green (trees).

  14. I love to antique and do solemnly pledge to get to Provence and stay in one (or all) of your rentals Corey! My hubby lives in motorcycle la la land most of the time and collects old Harley’s. I promote his collection as then he seems less likely to object to the copious amount of old stuff I haul home:) he and your FH would be a good match at the brocantes!

  15. Tongue in Cheek

No his head was too big. I would say he has the Amaro Bucket.

  16. Tongue in Cheek

    Okay I am waiting!

  17. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

and I’m in Gig Harbor. Just imagine how busy Corey would be visiting all her blog friends if she ever came to the PacNW!

  18. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

He looked so cute modeling it

    What is that blue-blue-green pic?
What sweet old stuffed animals, Horse slumped on the ground and reflected in the mirror. What would Horse’s Child think of this.

  20. I enjoy the fun of the hunt at brocantes in France, markets in NZ or a find on an auction site. I like to tart up my find (pimp my find) or re-purpose it and then enjoy the fun of selling it on at a local market or auctioning it off on “Trademe” New Zealand’s version of eBay. If I want something I have a knack of finding it somewhere in the world and that’s half the fun.

  21. I’m in Tacoma, too!

  22. That looks like a happy place! I love poking around and finding treasures. I did visit a brocante when I was in France about 10 years ago, but was horribly shy and went home empty handed. Hopefully I’ll get to try again on a future trip.

  23. And I am in Bremerton, formerly from Seattle & Bothell. Small world!
