37 Years and not too many photos to show it.

37 years it’s a long time. You would think I’d have a photo to share of the two of us-

Instead I tend to take photos of just him.

I married him because I knew he would be a good father. When I met him he was an au pair in San Francisco. And how he was with the three little boys he cared for – just sealed the deal.

He is usually game for most of my never ending ideas,

Thankfully, he always helps me at the Brocante. So much so people think that he’s my hired help. I don’t know if that’s a good thing actually.

I knew when I married him that he loved my family, and that my family loved him, that was really important.

He can be so goofy.

I love him because he is helpful to anybody anywhere at any time. He selfless like that.

I love that his masculine side isn’t tough and aggressive.

and that he can be reflective.

And that he has fun when we’re working together.

But, I have got to take more photos of the both of us together! In 37 years, I think I might have 37 photos- but that might be exaggerating I might have less.

Maybe that could be my New Year’s resolution so that next year when we celebrate 38 years I will have photos to share of both us. But, we know how New Year’s resolutions go.

  6. Happy anniversary! What a nice tribute this post is! You need one of those remote timer things, or the cord with a button, so you can be in front of the camera too!

Congrats! I think you are very lucky to have each other! A French male au pair?! Wow.

  11. Happy Anniversary to you both! It feels so good to spend your life with someone who “gets” you, who understands and supports. Wishing you many more years of joy together. (We were married the year before you and like you, I was so lucky to have found my matching sock.)

Happy Anniversary! Such wonderful photos! In particular, the one of Yann and Sasha sitting together with their eyes shut…. is really stunning! It deserves to be blown up large and hung on a wall!,😘

  13. Congratulations to you both Corey. It would not have been easy for you & Yann with you being so far from your family. We lived a long way from our families when we were first married. It was only a 4hr plane trip home but we didn’t have the money in 60’s to do that. We didn’t have mobile phones in those days, not even a house phone. We had to go into the city to ring from the GPO (General Post Office)
60yrs married this year! We were only that far away for 2yrs.

    Congratulations!

    Chère Corey,

Bonjour et félicitations ; vous êtes mignons ! Here’s to 37 more years.

You two must be experts in cross cultural relations ; let us know your communication secrets.

Jody and I will celebrate 35 years on Valentine’s day (probably with 3,500 photos of us; hmm, does that mean we’re vain, too much time on our hands, not enough travels?).

It’s never too late to take more photos of such a happy couple. Consider it a gift for others, especially future generations. For us, it’s never too late to improve our communication skills; since I’ve morphed into the Franco-American and move to France full-time while handsome hubby returns to the Riviera for summers and short séjours.

    Details please…..

    Bonne journée et bonne année.
    Your fan,
    Ella

We knew there was a special connection when we met in Cassis. From that meeting to having us as your guests, and you two as our guests in Provenance we could feel your love for each other. It’s been our gift to know you both and your family.
