Antiquing in Provence

Who comes on a French la Vie? Some are collectors, some own shops, some create, some simply love beautiful old things. Different styles, different stories, and somehow it always fits together perfectly. A few have come several times, that is the best review of all. Three of our guests this week have joined us before, and one is brand new, and already it feels like old friends. Markets, brocantes, laughter, long lunches, and that wonderful feeling of discovering together.

We do not shop until we drop- We just take breaks wherever there is a place to sit down. Here is Cathy in the middle of the market. No she was not taking a break. She was repacking her bag so she could get more in it.

We dig around secondhand shops, high end antique stores, and everything in between we’re not picky just like hunting and peeking into any place we find… but we prefer places only if the stuff is older than us.

We share knowledge, creative ideas, and help each other find what they are looking for-

Funky, cool, beautiful, unusual, rare, practical, ordinary, tiny…

We walk, we drive, we turn corners, and discover plenty of small, astonishing things tucked into ordinary places in a land rich with history and culture.

I see lots I like in that shop. And remnants of a Roman amphiteatre…you must be in Nimes!
